Thought for the Week

You can’t think your way into certainty. You have to decide your way there. Clarity is often a reward for action, not a prerequisite.

This Week's Insights🎙️

So I've been facing analysis-paralysis lately with what I believe is a critical element of small business marketing - a website (my own actually).

As I grow and pivot my business, it has been a constant flow of decisions on how to improve and approach my social media, content ideation, website pages and more. All of these elements are dependent on which services I offer as Fractional CMO Agency.

The mistake I was making was that while I was being indecisive about my website & social media, I hadn't considered the effect on potential clients. So, I quickly turned it around by doing 3 things:

  1. I created a free account on Buffer and setup a simple social media schedule using the software's neat features.

  2. I closed down my Linktree and replaced it with a feature within Buffer itself called a "Start Page". Visit it Here

  3. I updated my social media links to the new Start Page.

By making this series of decisions, I quickly diverted my attention away from thinking about a website that doesn't need immediately building, while driving any potential traffic towards a "hub" that has all the necessary CTAs for them to take action.

This leads me to the point that in business, clarity often beats perfection. Many founders and teams get stuck trying to make the perfect choice - waiting for more data, more alignment, or just a bit more time. But that delay has a cost.

Every moment you hesitate is a moment lost - momentum slows, opportunities slip, and confidence wavers. In fact, research shows that people regret inaction far more than wrong action over time.

Clarity gives direction.

Direction creates momentum.

Momentum builds outcomes.

Practical Tips ✅

  1. Set a Time Limit for Big Decisions: Pressure breeds clarity.

  2. Use the 70% Rule: If you have 70% of the info, make the call. Waiting for 100% often means you're too late.

  3. Decide the Default: If no action is taken, what happens? Knowing your “default” can make deciding easier.

Did You Know? 🧠

Warren Buffett believes that your entire life’s success can be traced back to just 12 really good decisions. That’s it. Not hundreds, not dozens - just a handful of smart, high-impact choices.

It’s a powerful reminder that clarity, timing, and focus matter far more than constant hustle.

Less Information, More Execution.

We live in a world overflowing with resources, but still feel stuck.

The missing piece? Execution.

Most people aren't short on ideas… they're short on action.
