Thought for the Week

Chaos exposes what your systems can’t hide. If your business breaks the moment something shifts, you were never in control.

This Week's Insights🎙️

As a founder, no week ever truly goes to plan.

One minute you’re deep in client work - next, your laptop crashes, your meeting moves, and someone needs “just five minutes” that turn into forty.

Sounds familiar right?

What I eventually realized is that the week wasn't the problem. My planning and response was.

Over time, I’ve stopped chasing perfect schedules. Instead, I’ve started designing flexible structures that allow the week to wobble - without taking me down with it, because there will always be uncertainty - it comes with the job - so your workflow shouldn’t depend on everything going right, it should be built to flex, bend, and still deliver when things go sideways.

Think of it like India: seemingly chaotic on the outside, but underneath it all, a rhythm - a logic - keeps it flowing. It’s not about avoiding surprises. It’s about knowing what matters most when they show up.

In business, resilience isn’t about holding it all together. It’s about knowing what to hold onto - and letting the rest move.

Practical Tips ✅

  1. Set “Anchors,” Not Rigid Schedules: Choose 1-3 things each day that must get done, no matter what.

  2. Use Templates for Chaos Days: Create simple SOPs or templates for recurring tasks so you have less to manage when plans change.

  3. Build Weekly Reset Rituals: A 30-min Friday or Sunday reset to review what worked, what shifted, and what to adjust.

Did You Know? 🧠

In 1997, a fire shut down a key Toyota supplier - threatening to halt production globally. But within 3 days, Toyota had 62 companies retooled and producing the same part. Why? Because they’d built flexible systems and collaborative networks before crisis hit. Resilience isn’t about control. It’s about coordination.
