This Week's Insights🎙️
The search landscape is experiencing its biggest shift since mobile-first indexing. People are quickly changing, switching from standard search engines to AI-powered search engines like Perplexity, ChatGPT Search, and Claude, fundamentally changing how people find information.
Not only that, but Perplexity recently made headlines over an offer to buy Google Chrome, the biggest search engine with 63.7% market share!! What's remarkable is how these platforms are redefining search behaviour; people are now expecting conversational context-aware answers rather than a list of blue links.
The difference, however, in up & coming search engines with these conversational answers, is that they are backing their information through a series of credible links
This remarkable growth of AI in search engines is something every business needs to get ahead of. Your SEO strategy needs evolution. The fundamentals remain: quality content, user intent, and authority. But now you're optimising for AI that reads your entire page context, understands nuanced queries, and values comprehensive, well-structured information over keyword density.
The businesses adapting fastest are those treating AI search as an additional channel, not a replacement strategy. They're creating content that satisfies both traditional search algorithms and AI comprehension - and they're seeing traffic growth across all search platforms.
Practical Tips ✅
Structure content with clear headings and bullet points: AI engines prioritise well-organised information that directly answers user queries.
Create comprehensive topic clusters, not isolated blog posts: AI rewards depth and context. Build content hubs around core topics.
Optimise for voice and conversational queries: Include FAQ sections and write in a conversational tone as if responding to a person asking.

Did You Know? 🧠
AI companies aren't trying to replace search engines - they're trying to make them smarter. That's what Perplexity is trying to do with Chrome, and what Google have already done themselves with Google Gemini. This follows the pattern we saw with mobile, where the winners weren't those who abandoned desktop strategies, but those who evolved them.
Don't Let AI Takeover Your Business
While every business today should use AI to it's advantage, They need to be careful to not allow for lazy automation - and not let it lose it's human touch.
That's all for this week.
See you next Wednesday!
